Trekking South Tyrol

You can combine trekking South Tyrol with the history and culture of Valle Aurina; an example is the “Predoi Miners’ Path”, whose level quite easy; the best period to discover this hiking trip is between May and October. The departure is at the Sankt Ignaz tunnel, located at 1500 meters of height and the arrival is at the Croce Val Rossa, whose height is 2080 meters. This trekking South Tyrol path shows the testimonies of the Predoi mining past , showing the old tunnels and the permanent research of new copper veins in the mountains nearby. The mining industry started in 1528 and laste till the end of the XIX century, till the year in which mines were closed.
